What is a Playaway?

Picture
The Playaway is an all-in-one audiobook.  It is a small device that can be held in your hand that comes with a book already loaded on it.  There is no need for multiple cd's when using a Playaway.  You don't need the internet to download the audiobook and then a device to listen to it.  Everything is included with the Playaway:
  • Earphones
  • Battery
  • Audiobook device

Just put on the earphones and press play.

Some things to know:
You can use your own earphones.  No need to use the ones provided if you don't want to. Just remember to include the Playaway's earphones when you return them to the library.

You can also use any audio input cords that are meant to use in the earphone jack.  This includes car adapters for mp3 players and portable speakers.

Can't get the Playaway to turn on?  You may need to replace the battery.

some things to know:

Earphones/headphones are not included with the Playaway View.  Using your own is an option, but it has external speakers built into the device.

Can't get it to turn on? The Playaway View is battery operated with an internal rechargeable battery.  If this runs out, do not try to replace it.  Instead, recharge the Playaway View with the A/C adapter included.
