DAISY Readers and CNIB CD-Audiobooks
The Rainy River Public Library currently has three DAISY Readers (VictorReader ClassicX model) available for patrons to borrow free of charge. In partnership with the CNIB, we also have a collection of over a hundred talking books that are compatible with our DAISY Readers that we lend to patrons. CNIB Audiobooks can be played on DAISY Readers and computers. Patrons do not have to be legally blind in order to borrow DAISY Readers or CNIB Audiobooks -- we welcome everyone with vision impairments to make use of this technology to facilitate their reading.
Why should you consider using DAISY Readers? The compatible talking books need only one CD per book, have great sound quality, and allow the reader to control their navigation through the book with bookmarks and chapter indexing. Find out more at the Library!
